Uluwatu Cliff & Sunset Escape

Having spent a few years exploring Bali with my partner, I was surprisingly refreshed by how laid-back this day felt. The views from the Uluwatu cliffs are as stunning as I remember, yet discovering new little walking trails along the edge really made it for us. Chilling at Melasti Beach Club right after — easily the most relaxed I’ve felt on this island. Nyoman, our driver for the day, seemed to know the perfect timing for quieter spots. On top of all that, no unexpected shopping detours, which is always a relief.

Thought these long tours might be tricky with little ones, but Melasti Beach was worth every minute — absolutely calm even with kids darting around. Lounging at the beach club felt low-key and unfussy (plus, skipped any of the typical shopping sidetracks, which was such a relief). Uluwatu’s cliffs at sunset were real show-stoppers, and despite some moments of restlessness from our youngest, the views managed to steal the focus every time. Just pure scenery, sprawled out beneath shifting clouds, was unusually peaceful. Easy day, gentle pace — honestly made our Bali week special.

Kids squealing with half-salty hair, the turquoise sweep of Melasti Beach set the scene. Pool loungers, good tunes drifting just enough to liven the beach club—spent longer unwinding here than anywhere else on our Bali trip. Clifftop Uluwatu couldn’t have stunned us more; raw seascapes, slender paths you meander just slowly enough the moment really sinks in.

Having spent time at Seminyak on my last Bali trip, I found the ease and vibes at Melasti Beach's club scene way more laid-back this time around. The service never felt rushed, plus lounging by the coastline into sunset pretty much summed up my ideal afternoon. Wandering along Uluwatu's cliffs blew any picture I've seen out of the water—nothing staged, just good views and cool breezes. A little bonus—no shopping distractions, which kept things refreshingly simple overall.

Didn’t expect the kids to last so long chilling out at the Melasti beach club, but the relaxed atmosphere really made the whole day easy. Uluwatu’s cliffs were spectacular—great stop for curious little ones to burn off energy too. Can’t tell you how refreshing it was that there weren’t any surprise shopping stops along the way. Surya drove us with zero hassle and seems to know just when the little ones needed a break.

Salty breeze, soft sand, and music from the Melasti Beach Club kind of sum up a perfect midday escape. Really appreciated soaking up the untouched cliff views over Uluwatu—just what I needed away from screen time. Travelled solo but our driver Bagus made things super simple along the coast; zero shopping stops, which quietly kept the vibes relaxed. Already wishing tomorrow had the same blue horizons.
