Visiting other rice terraces doesn't quite compare to the tranquility of Tegallalang when you've got exclusive access. Floored by the serenity at Gunung Kawi Sebatu—its fountains and shrines unfussed by crowds just invited slow wandering. The day honestly unfolded seamlessly with a leisurely lunch somewhere locals genuinely love (they were spot on with the peanuts sambal by the way), and our swimming spot at the waterfall felt hidden and personal. Really appreciated that no part of the day got ambushed with shopping stops, which just meant more time in gorgeous spots with friends. Real highlight for any girls’ getaway.

The moments wandering Tegallalang’s rice fields, taking stunning photos without the bustling crowds around us, felt almost unreal. Putu’s navigation was seamless and never hurried us along—and not stopping unheard for tourist shops, just made it all the more refreshing. The peaceful magic at Gunung Kawi Sebatu Temple quietly stole the show for me; lunch at a backroad warung made the afternoon even sweeter. Seeing the jungle waterfall up close, with nothing but the sounds of water around, capped it all perfectly.

The day just seemed to unfold gently, never rushed or pushed along. Our time at Gunung Kawi Sebatu really stuck with us; the hush there is something else, almost meditative.Found ourselves chatting with a smiley local over a homemade lunch; somehow that made the island feel that much more welcoming.Later, letting the kids play in our little patch of jungle waterfall was absolute bliss — rare you get that in Bali! And as a relief: not a souvenir circuit anywhere in sight. Will happily remember this trip.

Wandering the Tegallalang Rice Terraces without a crowd felt personal; there’s something about green terraced hills that peacefully takes over your mind. Father and teenager with me—a joy to slow down together at the spring-fed temple, just breathing in calm for the morning. Private stop under the waterfall let us collect ourselves without hustle, followed by simple local lunch that brought the day home. Appreciated the straight sightseeing (skipping any shopping stops, which I barely even thought about).
